Keith House Honors Earth Day with the Mighty Chinquapin Oak

Rooted in Purpose

At Keith House, Earth Day isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a reflection of our commitment to growth, connection and caring for the land we call home. This year, we celebrated by planting a native treasure: the Chinquapin Oak.

Native to North Texas, the Chinquapin Oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) is known for its strength, resilience and beauty. With its distinctive saw-toothed leaves and wide-spreading branches, this oak offers more than just shade—it provides food and shelter for wildlife, supports pollinators and helps restore the natural ecosystem. It’s a true neighbor in our native landscape.

By planting Chinquapin Oaks on our grounds, we’re deepening our roots in the region and sowing seeds for future generations. These trees are a living reminder that meaningful change starts with small, thoughtful actions—and that even one tree can make a difference.

Happy Earth Day, from all of us at Keith House 🌱
